I loved the swearing. The swears by the people who aren't comfortable with it. The ones by the people who were weened on it. The foreign languages. The concatenation of words. The video clips. And the sheer bile spewed out at the universe on my behalf.
We're going away for the last few days of my 'Get Pregnant with IVF' sabbatical. I know it'll include a lot of pregnant-unfriendly food, pâtés, soft cheeses and, knowing my French, some inadvertent offal orderage. There'll be booze, plenty of it, which no doubt means there will also me some mid-night weeping and ranting.
Must pack tissues.
We aren't ready to give up. I reckon I've got at least one more IVF in me. But I don't know when, or where. I'll have a follow up consultation at some point before Christmas, but my current clinic will have to offer some pretty radical solutions for me to try there again. Three strikes and you're out dudes. Saying that, they are very good - for other people - and I am currently trying to persuade the wombmate to give them a shot.
If you want to re-live my pregnancy testing again check out iVillage **spoiler alert** the result doesn't change.

Have a wonderful boozey time and eat plenty of cheese!
ReplyDeleteP.s. Number 4 was my lucky number---just sayin
Glad to hear you are going away - and that you haven't given up! Eat lots of unhealthy food and drink lots of wine - you deserve it!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear you haven't given up. Now go get drunk!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful time away!!! It's the perfect plan for spending these past few days! Enjoy and indulge... we're here rooting you on when you get back!!!
ReplyDeleteSushi, Red Wine, Melted Brie with Cranberries, Coffee, Dark Chocolate, oh yum. I know it's no real consolation, but I hope you enjoy all of those scrumptious foods. I send you hugs and love and I would curse but being scottish I reckon the internet would collapse if I let loose ;)
ReplyDeleteSomehow, every afternoon around 2 or 3, I feel like it's time for a glass of wine. Unfortunately, I'm usually at work, and so cannot have a glass of wine. So, could you do me a favor and have a nice glass of wine every afternoon for me? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely trip... I've eaten nothing but sushi, soft cheese, soft-serve ice-cream, pate, salad-bar salads, coffee, thick-shakes and unwashed veggies as I can over the past week... washed down with the occasional wine :)) With you on the TTC journey on the other side of your holiday xoxo
ReplyDeleteI would add lots of extremely warm baths to the list (although maybe this is just an American 'forbidden thing'? always seemed dumb to me).
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time away. Trips have always been my favorite method of coping with a cycle that didn't go well. Hell, I've already got one planned right now to help me get over this current cycle not working -- and my transfer was just yesterday. I guess you might call me pessimistic.
Anyway, take care. I'll be thinking of you, and hoping for the best in whatever comes next. Even if, for now, that is simply soft cheese!
Enjoy your trip! Drink lots of booze, you have earned it!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I have never found your blog before. When I discover a British Blogger it's like uncovering hidden treasure.
ReplyDeleteI'm on my first IVF cycle and will be following you from now on.
Sorry to hear about your negative result, enjoy the non-pregnancy foods and drinks.
Not read many of your posts yet so I don't know if you're a drinker, if you are- cocktails, cocktails, cocktails!
Enjoy your trip, deffinetly enjoy all the things otherwise forbidden, lol! Wishing you all the best with your journey moving forward!
ReplyDeleteAlso, belatedly- buggery bollocks.
ReplyDeleteI swear too much
I really like hearing that you aren't ready to give up. Have an awesome time on your trip!
ReplyDeleteI hope your time away helps. Reeling a bit from two negative transfers in a row. You'd think with all the practice I'd be better and absorbing those negatives by now, but it just seems to keep getting harder. I'm so sorry for you (and me, too).
ReplyDeleteSo nice you get to go away for a bit, and not have to delve straight into work.
ReplyDeleteHope you eat, drink and be merry not just this weekend but take an extended month with all the holidays!
Still sorry for the negative...."panchot" (Indian swear word).
